Abstract
Polyphonic music teaching is an important part of polyphonic music education curriculum for higher teachers. Its goal is to improve students'thinking ability and their aesthetic appreciation of polyphonic music. However, due to the influence of traditional educational concepts, polyphonic music teaching objectives in the current higher education lack to improve students'understanding of polyphonic music. In recent years, the focus of higher education institutions has shifted from students'theoretical knowledge to polyphonic music teaching. Therefore, in the context of the current curriculum changes, reform and innovation of polyphonic music teaching are needed to continuously improve teaching efficiency and optimize teaching effects. The focus of this paper is to explore the importance of polyphonic music teaching in the theory of composition techniques, for reference only.
