Abstract
Quality education requires that in the process of music teaching for students, colleges and universities should not only teach students music theory knowledge, but also cultivate students' aesthetic ability and music thinking. They should pay attention to cultivating students' sentiment and shaping their personality so as to guarantee the teaching quality. In this context, pop music began to join the teaching of College courses. Through the analysis of the content of pop music, this paper explores the classroom teaching of pop music and music under the new curriculum reform, aiming at improving the application level of pop music and guaranteeing the quality of music teaching in Colleges and universities.
