Abstract

Basing on the cultural vacancy theory, this paper aims to analyze and compare the similarities of the cultural connotations of “3“, “7“between Tibetan and English. The study shows that there are some similarities in the auspicious cultural connotations of the 2 numerals between Tibetan and English, for both of them adore the odd number, as well as having much in common in terms of cognitive experience and cultural experience.
