Abstract

Construction project, quality, schedule, cost constraints. Construction projects consist of a large number of links/variables with cross-coupling relationship among each other. Experience based management falls short amid rising data complexity and risk uncertainty. The mathematical modeling introduced into construction management can provide a supporting role of rapid decision-making and dynamic correction by formalizing the multi-source data and constraint relations between them on the one hand, and quantifying some hidden risks, resource conflicts, cost deviation in advance to provide setting method fulcrum and computational basis for refined whole-process governance on the other hand. Accordingly, this paper is the first to propose corresponding modeling frameworks and application paths based on construction management areas including the four aforementioned dimensions of quality, schedule, cost and safety. The findings imply that this technical approach is capable of effectively promoting efficiency gain, cost reduction, quality and safety improvement, and project controllability/predictability enhancement.
