Abstract

According to the ongoing extension of urban road construction, the performance indicators of pavement materials makes an increasingly high demand on it. High-performance pavement materials, owing to their excellent mechanical properties, durability and environmental adaptability, are increasingly the main material used in municipal road construction. Based on this, this study investigates the performance adaptability and durability of high-performance pavement materials for municipal road projects. It first classifies typical material types and summarizes their physical, chemical, and mechanical attributes. Then, it analyzes the adaptabilities of these hydrophobic additives in multiple construction environments by considering environmental factors, construction methods and compatibility with road structures. Finally, it considers long-term functional performance of these materials by means of durability evaluation indexes such as rutting resistance, crack resistance, freeze-thaw resistance and aluminum magnesium aging. This shows that high-performance pavement materials have good adaptability and excellent durability in different climate conditions and construction conditions, which can prolong the life of the road service and improve maintenance efficiency. This study has theoretical basis and practical significance for the selection and optimization of high-performance pavement materials in municipal road projects.
