Abstract
Exploring the reform and practice of English classroom teaching from the perspective of new liberal arts (NLA) is the core topic of this assessment. The introduction part expounds the new requirements of the NLA concept for English language teaching (ELT), and the importance and challenges of English classroom teaching under the background of the NLA. This assessment deeply analyzes the innovation and innovation of English classroom teaching in terms of instructional content, instructional methods and means and instructional assessment system under the background of NLA. The instructional content incorporates elements such as cross-cultural communication and critical thinking. The instructional method adopts new models such as mixed teaching and project-based learning. The instructional assessment system constructs the principles of comprehensiveness, objectivity and development. These practical explorations can significantly improve students' language use ability, cross-cultural communication ability and critical thinking, and also improve the instructional quality. Students show higher learning initiative in a more diversified and individualized learning environment. Finally, this assessment emphasizes the importance of continuous exploration and practice, and encourages English educators to innovate instructional methods and contribute to the innovative development of ELT.
