Abstract
This paper mainly discusses the important role of imagination and association in music appreciation, and takes Mozart's "Symphony No.40 "as an example to deeply analyze the embodiment of this psychological mechanism in specific music works. This paper briefly describes the importance of music appreciation in the field of humanities and arts, and the key role of imagination and association in it, and clarifies the theme and significance of this study. On this basis, this paper combs the musical features of Mozart's "Symphony No.40 "in detail, including its creative background, structural features and musical style. At the same time, it focuses on how the musical elements of each movement in the music arouse the imagination and association of the audience, and shows the concrete application and effect of this psychological mechanism in the process of appreciation through examples of specific paragraphs. Imagination and association enrich the audience's understanding and feelings of "Symphony No.40", and also make music appreciation a more active and creative process. The audience transforms music into vivid pictures through imagination, and connects these pictures with personal experience and emotional experience through association, thus understanding the connotation of the work more deeply.
