Firstly, this article summarizes the uniqueness of Chinese phonetic system and the challenges faced by second language learners, and emphasizes the importance and urgency of the research. Then, by combing the research status of second language pronunciation acquisition theory, Chinese pronunciation characteristics and instructional methods, the innovation and research value of this research are clarified. At the same time, through questionnaires, interviews and other research methods, the data of learners with different mother tongue backgrounds in the process of learning Chinese pronunciation are collected and analyzed in depth. The research results show that the Chinese phonetic system has brought many challenges to second language learners with its unique tone system, rich syllable structure and complex phonetic variation law.
