Abstract
Aiming at the problem o f low security of substation intelligent device based on single factor authentication in power infrastructure, a multi-factor substation authentication and key exchange protocol based on password, smart card and biometric template is proposed, which realizes the two-way authentication between the client and the server in the communication of the intelligent terminal of the substation, and generates a high-entropy session key for secure communication. Compared with the existing one-factor authentication protocols (e.g. based on password), the protocol proposed in this paper can ensure secure authentication and communication in the case of even one of the three factors being leaked. Theoretical analysis shows that the proposed protocol has the security of two-way authentication and session key security, and the experimental results show that the proposed protocol has the advantages of high communication efficiency.
