Abstract
As part of smart homes, smart windows play a significant role in enhancing living environment comfort and safety, while meeting the demand for human-centric design. Currently, although sliding aluminum windows dominate the market, the concept and application of smart windows are gradually gaining recognition due to the promotion of smart home and IoT technologies. Equipped with intelligent sensors and control systems, these windows automate opening and closing and monitor environmental conditions, effectively addressing losses due to forgotten closures. However, the promotion of smart windows in the domestic market is hindered by various factors, including high costs, inconvenient maintenance, and low popularity. Presently, smart windows are primarily used in high-end public spaces and luxury residences. Technologically, utilizing low-cost, low-complexity devices like ESP32 controllers and raindrop detectors, smart windows have promising market prospects. Moreover, advanced technologies such as sensors and network connections enable smart windows to automatically adjust light and temperature, optimizing living conditions. In summary, the development of smart windows not only meets the pursuit of convenient and comfortable living but also signifies the future trend of integrating technology and environment in residential construction.
