Analysis of the Causes and Prevention of the Postoperative Infectio of the Oral and Maxillofacial Region Tumor

Abstract
The paper observes the factors related to the postoperative infection of the oral and maxillofacial region tumor and the countermeasures for prevention and cure. 45 postoperative infected persons (11.84%) from 380 patients having been taken with the oral and maxillofacial region tumor surgery in the author’s hospital from January, 2015 to July, 2017 were selected as the research objects. Then, the paper summarizes their infection factors, and puts forward the countermeasures for prevention and cure. Results show that: ① The postoperative infection of the oral and maxillofacial region tumor was positively correlated to the age: when the patient was < 7 years old and > 60 years old, the occurrence rate was very high (P<0.05); ② The infection was positively correlated to aspiration, invasive operations and immobilization (P<0.05); ③ The proper order of the occurrence rate of the infection site was lower in respiratory infection, wound infection and upper respiratory infection; ④ There were 28 cases infecting gram positive bacteria (62.22%) and 17 cases infecting gram-negative bacteria (37.78%); ⑤ The infection was positively correlated to the length of stay: the longer the length of stay, the higher the infection rate (P<0.05). In conclusion, the postoperative infection of the oral and maxillofacial region tumor is directly related to many factors, such as the patient' age, length of stay, aspiration, invasive operations and immobilization. In the clinic treatment, doctors shall assess the factors related to the infection comprehensively and choose the targeted countermeasures for prevention and cure to reduce the possibility of postoperative infection and provide assistance for prognosis.
