Abstract
Akira Yoshimura created a series of "cruise" novels based on the records of drifters overseas during the Edo period. In the work "Shipwrecks", Yoshimura uses the "fishing village" and the "Ship God" as metaphors for Japan and what happened to Japan during World War II. He tries to proposes the view of good and evil, and warns readers to create life with labor.
