Abstract
Economic statistics is a professional basic course for finance and commerce majors in colleges and universities. The characteristics of this course determine its specificity in the method of integrating the ideological and political ideas of the course and its particularity in teaching. In the course of teaching the professional knowledge of economic statistics, this paper explores how to integrate the ideological and political elements of the course organically, to educate students on patriotism, materialism and historical materialism, unity and self-improvement and national spirit, and to give full play to the moral education function of the basic professional courses.
