Abstract
The idea of all-round development of human beings is the essence and core of the entire ideological system of Marxism. With the successive presentation of the Chinese Dream, the socialist core values and the five major development concepts, the Marxist idea of the free and all-round development of human beings has once again attracted intense attention from the theoretical circles. Marxist thought of man's all-round development includes the all-round development of man's comprehensive ability, man's free personality and so on. To realize people's all-round development, we need to have certain conditions: the vigorous development of social productivity, social practice and education. The Marxist thought of man's free and all-round development is based on “realistic individual”. Marxism's free and all-round development of human beings is neither a utopian dream nor a capitalist liberal democracy. It is a natural historical process that is determined by the level of productive forces and develops with the evolution of ownership. Studying Marxist thought of all-round development of human beings not only helps us to correctly understand and grasp the essence of socialism, but also contributes to the development of China's socialist modernization.
