Abstract

Character is one of the key elements of a short story. Successful characterization directly related to the success of a short story. Taking the short story I’m a fool as an example, this paper summarizes the methods of successful characterization: indirect presentation, conflictive psychological descriptions, behavior consistence, proper motivation, being plausible, and creating authentic character with defects.
