Abstract
Discipline, as a key factor in the development of universities, plays a fundamental and overall role in the development of universities. In the new era, China's foreign language and literature disciplines are facing various challenges, such as the unbalanced development of foreign language disciplines and the weakening of the attributes of foreign language disciplines as humanities disciplines. The more important change in the teaching reform of foreign language and literature is the deepening of teaching content, which not only broadens the horizon, but also explores the origin and inheritance of literature. With the help of the map of scientific knowledge, this paper screens out the frequently cited documents in foreign language and literature research citations from 2008 to 2018, so as to sort out the overall development of foreign language and literature research. It is helpful to understand the research status and development trends of foreign language and literature, and provide directional guidance for such research.
