Abstract
Legalism is a school of thought with “rule of law” as its core, which came into being and developed during the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. Its thought has a far-reaching influence on Chinese society since then. The “socialist rule of law” that we carry out today is different from the “rule of law” of Legalists. Through the analysis of the main idea of Legalists and Legalists, the author tries to provide some beneficial enlightenment to the construction of socialist rule of law in China.
