Abstract
Humor is a common phenomenon in our daily communication, but most people know little about it. The author tries to make people have a more comprehensive understanding of English humor from the perspective of pragmatics through the analysis of this article, so that people can better appreciate and use humor correctly, and at the same time, to better promote language teaching. This article attempts to analyze and explore the characteristics of humorous discourse and the reasons for humor from a cognitive perspective.
