Abstract

In recent years, more and more people have realized that language plays an important role in their daily lives. Taking the British playwright Harold Pinter’s play-The Homecoming as corpus, the present paper is designed to investigate the inter-relationship between language and power in social interactions, specifically, how participants of a community use discursive strategy to achieve their own power from the perspective of turn-taking strategies
