Abstract
Oak is one of the central characters in Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd. He is the quintessential representative of the community. He is the son of the nature, because he lives in natural harmony, the harmony between man and nature, and his inner harmony. This thesis mainly focuses on the analysis of Oak from Ecocriticism. In this paper, this character will be analyzed his view of natural harmony, harmony between man and nature, and his inner harmony from Ecocriticism.
