Abstract
Since the introduction of the “planned obsolesence”, it has been widely criticized by environmentalists, design theorists and some designers, and has proposed to abolish the “planned obsolesence” from many angles, but has little impact on design practice. Starting from the influence of capitalist industrialized production, social psychology and modern social structure on modern design, it is an inevitable outcome of modern society to develop after a certain stage. It is not an easy task to abolish the “planned obsolesence.”
