Abstract

Many researchers have made a profound analysis of symbolism of the letter “A” in The Scarlet Letter. Actually, besides the symbol “A”, there are many other symbols in The Scarlet Letter, and they also play a very important role in it. However, researchers neglect these important symbols and they have not touched upon them. In this case, based on The Scarlet Letter copyrighted in 1962 by Airmont Publishing Co, Inc, a profound and comprehensive analysis of symbolism was given through the analysis of characters in the novel.
