Abstract

Frederick Jackson Turner is a well-known American historian and an important representative of the "Frontier Thesis" which has had a profound impact on the study of American historiography and even the world history. This paper expounds Turner's "Frontier Thesis" on its background, main contents, historical significance and influence, and expounds the enlightenment of his thesis to China's frontier development.
