Abstract
The Ministry of Education proposed that “water courses” be eliminated to create golden courses with innovation and challenge, which has triggered a heated discussion in college English teaching. This essay analyzes the current situation of college English teaching, explores the necessity and feasibility of implementing golden courses and proposes some specific principles and suggestions for the construction of golden courses in college English teaching.
