Abstract

As the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program (GMS) begins to flourish, one core issue deserves our attention. That is, how can effective GMS dispute settlement mechanism be designed. Firstly, this paper discusses the necessity of constructing GMS dispute settlement mechanism based on the national conditions of GMS member states. Then it analyzes the three main ways of international economic dispute settlement. Finally, by referring to the existing provisions of WTO and the North American free trade area on the dispute settlement mechanism, some thoughts are put forward for the construction of GMS dispute settlement mechanism.
